Yin Jiusi blushed a little. "These betrothal gifts are all that I can offer at the moment. Sorry that they may be a little simple. Divine Lord, I hope you can accept these first. I promise to offer more in the future when I can afford it."
Gu Xijiu did not know what to say. She knew all about the nature of the goods - the jade piece was crafted from the highest class of emerald jadestone, and the pearl was equipped with a spiritual aura that money could not buy. As for the iron dagger, it was considered a magical item. Its spiritual intelligence allowed it to be controlled by its master via a telepathic connection. Finally, the pill was magical and could be used to heal all sorts of external injuries.
Every single item was precious, but the man had made it seem like it was all that he could afford at the moment. He was clearly sincere.
However, Gu Xijiu was not going to accept his offer. "You don’t need to give me anything. The wedding is all but a show."
Yin Jiusi answered in all seriousness, "I understand. Although it is only a show, I shall not take it for granted. These betrothal gifts are still a must. If anything, it will make this scheme look more believable."
