The crowd had clearly picked their side as they continued to bombard Yun Yanli with their dissatisfaction. However, no matter what was said about him, he looked indifferent. It seemed as though he was really numb to the core.
He only stared at Di Fuyi and smiled at his current predicament. Finally, he was able to watch the man suffer. Nonetheless, Di Fuyi did not let him enjoy this feeling for long. He signaled his subordinates, and Feng Ruhuo emerged with a person in the crowd.
This person was none other than the young palace master. How she carried herself as somewhat awkward as she had tried to keep a low profile by dressing like an ordinary village girl.
Being monitored by the eight guardians, they knew that she had been frantically searching for her master. Due to the terrible image that she now had among the people, she was afraid that they would recognize her, so she disguised herself appropriately to stay under the radar. Her endless search left her miserable and pale as she could not sleep or eat well over the past few days.
Once she was made aware that Di Fuyi and Gu Xijiu were going to dismantle the last starry array, she predicted that Yun Yanli would be there to witness it. After all, the man’s last few years had been dedicated to building and protecting these arrays. She knew that he would want to be there to see it. That sparked a glimmer of hope in her heart and brought her here.
As she made her way through the crowd, she could not sense Yun Yanli’s presence, which left her disappointed. It was beyond her expectations that Di Fuyi would expose him. She resisted the urge to reach out to him and hid in the crowd first to assess the situation. Nevertheless, if Yun Yanli were to be in danger, she would surely rush forward to save him even if she had to sacrifice her life.
Unfortunately for the young palace master, before the opportunity presented itself, someone had already patted her from behind. Her limbs went numb as she turned slowly to the back to see that Feng Ruhuo had found her. Seconds later, she was pushed out of the crowd.
The snake that was wrapped around Feng Ruguo’s wrist was now wrapped around her neck, and the snake’s head was slowly approaching her carotid artery. The young palace master had no doubts that this snake could take away her life.
Yun Yanli slightly frowned at what he had seen. "Di Fuyi, why have you gotten her involved?!"
