Yun Yanli never thought that he would need to trust his enemy’s words one day. He also never imagined that he would be willing to contribute his arm to save other people. Not to mention that he had to do so in a very torturing way.
He cut off his arm with his sword and poured his own blood into the eight big copper pots.
As the eight evil beasts emerged from the copper pot, they treasured it a lot and did not allow anyone to approach it. Yun Yanli had been in severe pain after chopping off his arm, but he still had to run between the eight evil beasts to get his blood into the pots. It was a hazardous task for him.
In the beginning, the young palace master followed him to fend off the eight beasts. However, she was no match for any of them. She was almost critically hit by the paw of one of the beasts. Fortunately, Yun Yanli blocked most of the force from the attack in time, or she would have died then and there.
Even though Yun Yanli had absorbed most of the attack, the young palace master was severely injured and vomited blood. She barely managed to get herself up, but she was determined to stay beside Yun Yanli. Seeing this, Yun Yanli turned her away by pushing her into the distance. "Go away! I do not need your protection!"
Out of balance, the young palace master fell on one of her loyal subordinates. She looked at Yun Yanli with teary eyes, knowing that he cared about her despite his tone. Nevertheless, Yun Yanli was in a lot of danger. There were several times where the beasts almost killed him. If he had not cultivated to the level that he was, he would inevitably end up as a snack to one of those eight creatures.
Nonetheless, in spite of his prowess, the last three copper pots were a massive challenge for him due to his current condition. His robes were already stained purple by his own blood, and it really made him look pitiful as compared to his usual elegant self.
Kun Xueyi could no longer stand at the sidelines to watch. He flew over to Yun Yanli’s side and raised his hand to help him block a poisonous wave of water. "Let me protect you!"
