Yun Yanli studied the area but did not find any hideout. There were only some corals, seaweed, green algae, and all kinds of fishes and sea creatures. Without the crystal palace to provide them with refuge, Gu Xijiu and Di Fuyi couldn’t stay underwater for an extended period.
Disappointed, he started to doubt his thoughts. Could it be that Gu Xijiu and Di Fuyi were never here? Had they gone to Leguo City instead? Perhaps, the squid man was just a distraction? It would appear that he fell for another trick.
Yun Yanli’s clenched his fists tightly in frustration. He had fought along with Gu Xijiu before, and the two of them had overcome many obstacles together, so he thought that he knew her style quite well. Gu Xijiu had once told him that the most dangerous place would often turn out to be the safest. Hence, they could be hiding in his residence back in Leguo City.
The sudden thought made Yun Yanli very anxious. He could no longer care about the squid man and wanted to return to Leguo City as soon as possible. However, in the distance, he noticed some movements in the water, as if something swimming by him. Even though he was initially puzzled, the answer came to him very quickly when he caught the scent of the squid man.
Therefore, he had a change of plan. It would take him at least four hours to return to Leguo City, and there was a chance that he would find nothing there. Nonetheless, if the squid man was one of Di Fuyi’s trusted men, he could capture him and use him as a bait to drive Gu Xijiu and Di Fuyi out of hiding. That way, he would have leverage on them rather than blindly chasing them around the place.
Yun Yanli quickly surveyed the area as he knew that the squid man was nearby. He knew that the man was swimming in different directions around him just to get him confused. Perhaps, the man was using some invisibility spell. This made Yun Yanli annoyed, and he could no longer suppress his urge to kill the creature. "Find your way through!" He called out while casting a spell.
All of a sudden, a streak of bright light surrounded Yun Yanli’s body and broke away in a violent expansion, transmitting energy outwards like a massive shockwave. Through the waves, the man could finally be seen. This time, he was wearing another set of dark blue robes, which shared the same color as the sea. Obviously injured, he shed some blood as soon as the waves brushed him through.
