There were finally some apparent signs that Di Fuyi’s condition was improving. Nevertheless, Gu Xijiu saw him swallowing the pills yet still behaving as if nothing had happened. She was actually tempted to do the same.
She took a pill and popped it into her mouth. She needed some water to help her swallow the pill, but as she searched for it, a man called out. "Oh, no! There are so many Bloody Bats again! They have returned!"
Gu Xijiu was surprised. In fact, she choked on the pill! Unable to breathe, she started coughing violently. The pill was not a small one, so she could not cough it out so easily. Soon, her face was red.
Di Fuyi quickly gave her a tap on the black, followed by a tight squeeze from the back. Finally, she spat the pill out, and it went through the curtains. Gu Xijiu could finally catch her breath, and she kept away the bottle of pills in her storage bag again. It was a waste to let the pill fly out the window, so she wanted to try and get it back. However, what she saw next completely stunned her.
There were thousands of Bloody Bats surrounding them in the air. They were initially drawn to the carriage, but they changed their course all of a sudden and plunged downward as if going after something important. Gu Xijiu was dizzy just watching them fly together.
What was going on? Gu Xijiu threw the guardians a look and saw their equally perplexed faces. "The bats were coming after us just now."
Guardian Hua heaved a long sigh of relief. "Anyway, I am glad that they are not going to attack us anymore."
Guardian Jin agreed, "I thought the same. If they were really coming at us, we would not be able to stand a chance. Do you know what they are doing? It seems as though they are killing themselves!" The Bloody Bats were fighting frantically against one another all of a sudden. They were not even bothered by the carriages anymore.
