Embarrassed, Yuanyuan’s face flushed crimson. "Yes," she answered with a hoarse voice; she was so embarrassed that she wished she could just bury her head in the ground to avoid any judgment.
"For almost a month, you took care of me and saved my life while I was in great danger. Thus, I vowed to repay your kindness by taking care of you as if you were my own sister. I wanted to keep you safe and free from all sufferings. I cared for you, but only as a brother to a sister. I wanted to repay your kindness for all the care that I received when I needed it. That is all."
"Yes," Yuan Yuan answered, red-faced. "It is all my fault."
Di Fuyi disregarded her apology and focused on the baby in his arms. The baby looked at him with an intense gaze with his watery eyes that glistened in the light.
