Smart enough, the princess knew what to do. "All right, I shall wait," she answered.
With a leap, she landed safely on the back of her celestial crane. It waved its gigantic wings and soared up high into the sky.
The troops resumed their journey while the soldiers continued to wave the flags amidst the cheering crowds. The people of the Devil Kingdom surrounded the streets in exuberance.
They stayed until the carriage departed far enough before they dispersed and returned to their normal routines. The excitement of witnessing the king was enough to fuel their energy for the rest of their day.
Gu Xijiu, along with everyone else, returned to their seats. After the hustle and bustle, people started to engage in lively conversations, all but the same topic – the Devil King.
They talked about his tactics of trying to bring the divided lands into one, about his policy of benevolence and certainly about the young princess. Someone added, "It has been a great misunderstanding. The young princess is not actually the Devil King’s sister, but his foster sister."
"Haha. Understood. I have heard about it, too. The Devil King has been so nice to her; perhaps, she will be the Devil Queen someday."
"She could be. Only the young and graceful princess can be a match to the Devil King."
