Whenever there was something nice to eat or wear, they would definitely keep it for her. Lovingly, they treated her like she was one of their own. The entire clan respected them.
These elders were desperate to make it out and see the world out there, too. If she really abandoned them, they would not survive on their own. Gu Xijiu took a breath and answered firmly, "Let’s think of some other way."
Di Fuyi absolutely understood her concerns, so he agreed. "All right; we shall try other ways."
While they were having the discussion, a loud, doleful cry could be heard. The sound was a little childlike but was equally prominent. Gu Xijiu’s expression changed abruptly. Tightly, she held onto her sword and warned, "The leader of the beasts has emerged!"
Dozens of Phantom Beasts appeared and lunged towards the people in a well-arranged formation. All the men quickly went into a violent battle. In an instant, it was all very chaotic. There were bawling sounds, howls of the beasts, quick footsteps, and some helpless screaming.
Di Fuyi pulled Gu Xijiu aside and suggested, "We should kill the leader of the beasts. Take me there!"
The leader of the beasts was able to summon and gather other beasts into a large swarm. Once triggered, it would attract hundreds of Phantom Beasts. By then, they would lose all control of their current defensive situation. They had to kill the leader of the beasts before things went haywire.
