Di Fuyi turned and lunged towards the two massive beasts.
Gu Xijiu did not answer him but indulged herself in the comfort layer. It felt very soft and cozy. Some beasts surrounded her, but they could not get past the protective barrier. She was very safe within the circle; hence, she put her attention on him instead.
Like a tiger in a pack of wolves, he battled in full rage. In high spirits, he swung his sword in the air repeatedly to clear his path towards the massive beasts. Any beasts that stood in his way were slaughtered.
They were not quite protective of their leaders. Soon enough, he got himself close enough to the beasts that he was aiming for. After a brief fight, the beasts laid by his feet, lifeless.
Di Fuyi thought that he could finally heave a sigh of relief since, after the death of the leaders, these little ones should retreat anytime.
He was worried about Gu Xijiu, so he quickly checked on her. There she was, standing in the circle. Her hands were pressing against the protective layer. Intensely, her eyes were focused on him. There was something strange about her expression, however. Her eyes were opened widely while her jaw was dropped, as if in awe. She was staring at something behind him.
Abruptly, Di Fuyi turned around, only to see a small, black beast standing next to the two lifeless bodies. The beast was two times smaller than the massive ones, but the look in its eyes was very stern. Its eyes were purple while its cheeks were bulging in frustration. It let out a high-pitched growl.
