Amused, Shen Jiuli answered with a smile, "The one who creates the order certainly has to follow and carry out the laws as well. As the saying goes, all are equal before the law. He cannot simply place himself above the heavenly law. Otherwise, who would follow the order that he has made?"
The logic seemed to make sense.
Ning Xuemo decided to leave this topic of conversation behind, so she turned to her son instead and said, "All right, let’s not talk about this anymore. Nianmo, where else do you want to go? Father and mother will go with you."
Shen Nianmo looked at his parents doubtfully. "Mother, both of you have been acting weird lately. You have been with me almost every day. I have met many of your friends, too." His parents’ sudden change of attitude worried him, for they had been extremely kind to him lately.
Shen Jiuli threw his son a look. "Why? Isn’t it a good thing?"
"No, it is just that... It feels a little weird."
"I am doing this as a reward for your efforts. I know that you worked hard to overcome the challenges set for you, so I want you to be happy. If you think what I am doing for you is weird, that is fine. We can head home now. I have recently discovered a new array formation; maybe you can help me test it out."

Ning Xuemo loved her son fondly, so she agreed to all of his requests. Shen Nianmo pulled his mother away and was ready to go. Swiftly, Shen Jiuli pulled him back and demanded, "Boy, I have not agreed to let you go."
Shen Nianmo winked at his father playfully with an adorable smile. "You listen to mother all the time. If mother agrees, it means you agree, too."
