Di Fuyi pulled her close at the waist and nodded. "Hmm, I will keep on looking." He chose to make her look at the bright side instead of crushing her hope.
It had been eights days since her return to his side. For the last couple of days, she had been spending all of her time with him. She did not even have enough sleep. Whenever he opened his eyes, he would definitely see a pair of big, bright eyes staring back at him cautiously, as she was afraid that he would suddenly pass away.
For a few days, she did not sleep well at all. Certainly, she was aware of that, too. She would pretend to be asleep just before he opened his eyes.
Di Fuyi could obviously tell the difference between sleeping and pretending to be asleep. Her breathing, heart rate, and pulse were all different when she was awake. She was lying so closely in his arms, so he could definitely feel the difference. She could not hide the truth from him.
He knew it very well that she was scared to lose him.
Like a man who had been sentenced to death, everyone else would surely be worried as he slowly approached the end of his life. She was reluctant to let him go. Her insecurities started to creep in.
However, Di Fuyi knew her well. He was well aware that she was trying very hard to help him stay. She was also worried about him. She did not want to become another weight on his mind, so she continued to laugh and joke with him like she was fine. She was still a quick learner like her usual self whenever new opportunities arose. But, when she was not with him, she would fall into a constant state of anxiety, just like the four messengers.
