Di Fuyi was asking the Firmament Stone for the approximate time that Gu Xijiu would be reborn. The Firmament Stone told him it would be in another 60 years after making a prediction based on its experience. 60 years was once a very short period to Di Fuyi; however, it was now a time period he would not be alive to experience. They would not be able to see each other again.
He looked at the girl in his embrace and realized that he would never ever get to see her standing in front of him alive and talk to him with laughter. His fingers were gently touching her lashes. Softly, he whispered, "Xijiu, forget about me when you come back... and live a good life after that."
Gu Xijiu was shocked! She was furious when she heard the first part of his sentence. He always wanted to be forgotten! Who or what did he think she was? A computer hard disk? Did he think she could just simply delete all the data in her head whenever she wanted?!
However, fear crept into her heart when she heard the last few words. He sounded like he was speaking to her for the last time. Or was she overthinking?
She quickly took a glimpse at him again. He did not wear a mask today and it was probably because he was invisible. Gu Xijiu noticed his face looked very pale even though his white hair was now black again. Besides that, there were two dark circles under his eyes and his lips were pale as well.
Gu Xijiu wanted to check his pulse but she realized that she probably would not be able to touch him. Was he too exhausted? It was rare to see him in such a pale appearance.
While she was still idling, a sudden noise was heard. It was the voice of a lady. "Oh, what kind of temple is this? Celestial Master Gu’s Temple? Which Celestial Master Gu?"
