Tenkomori: The Homecoming Club Conquers Another World

Chapter 132

Chapter 132.1. The Third Year at the Academy - 'Half-Body' Jared (1)

The camp of the Saigus Mercenaries was illuminated by the blazing light of the [Fireball] spells I had scattered.

Fires raged everywhere, mercenaries struck down by the [Fireball] lay on the ground, and others ran frantically to escape the flames. The panic was further fueled by horses bolting in fear of the fire.

A light-footed man yelled orders to try to restore order, while others desperately issued commands. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ novᴇl(ꜰ)ire.ɴet

But their voices were drowned out by the screams, failing to carry effectively.

Even in such chaos, one burly man remained calm.

He noticed me and placed a hand on the hilt of his sword.

"Who the hell are you? Hired by Wolber?"

I had no intention of answering his question, and he didn't have the luxury of expecting one.

My focus was solely on the fourth man. The three sturdy ones were undeniably strong.

A warrior, a light fighter, and a mage.

All of them possessed top-tier C-rank skills. Even the Battle Axe of Destruction would struggle against them.

However, this one was on an entirely different level.

- Titles -

A-Rank Adventurer, God Spear, Survivor

An A-rank adventurer—one who had reached the rank of God Spear, on par with the Holy Knight.

In his hand was the divine spear Shitzar, bearing the same name as his title, and on his back was the magic spear Skipus.

It was clear at a glance that these weapons matched his abilities.

His skills were extensive, and according to [Appraisal], his firepower, range, and versatility seemed unmatched.

Was I too naive?

Even if I'd thought I could handle those capable of killing Klaus, what had emerged was a monster far beyond my imagination.

"Jarid, take care of him."

"Hey now, I already finished my job. Don't go giving orders to someone just tagging along."

The adventurer, called Jarid, laughed dismissively.

Though [Appraisal] identified him as James, that was likely just an alias.

He didn't look like the God Spear or Throwing Spear Jared, but his Throwing 10 was no joke.

The light fighter vented his frustration at Jarid.

"Do something! You don't get free food and booze, you know!"

"It's not worth it."

Jarid gestured with his chin toward the camp, amused.

The blazing camp, the cacophony of mercenaries' shouts and groans.

Surveying the chaos, the burly man spat on the ground.

"Tch, you greedy bastard. Fine, I'll sweeten the dea—!?"

Before he could finish, I moved.

Jarid was an adventurer, not one of the Saigus Mercenaries.

I had to take him down before he got hired.

"Get out of the way!"

Before the warning ended, I dashed past the mage with [High-Speed Movement].

His dumbfounded face fell to the ground with a thud. First, the mage.

"You bastard!"

The burly man swung his sword, but I dodged immediately, pivoting to strike the light fighter.

A horizontal slash tore through his heart.

Still, Jarid didn't move.

He watched my actions with an amused look.

Instead, the burly man attacked again.

I slipped behind the light fighter's body as a shield, but the man swung his sword down without hesitation.

The light fighter, struck by his comrade's blade, fell still. Only the burly man remained.

But he wore chainmail imbued with magic.

My Rhino Sword couldn't finish him off.

Evading his strike, I plunged the Rhino Stiletto into his heart.

With a groan, the burly man collapsed on the spot.

That was the end of the mercenary leaders.

Now, what's the next move?

Lowering my sword, I turned to face Jarid.

This guy hadn't helped the burly ones—he was a true adventurer.

Most likely, he hadn't participated in the massacre, either.

Crimes done in secret might slide, but many survivors of Ilsana Village still lived.

If exposed, he'd be expelled from the guild and possibly become a wanted man.

Besides, I had used up too much magic destroying the camp.

I hoped he'd back off peacefully.

"Y-you… hire… help…"

A voice at my feet interrupted my thoughts.

I swung my sword, severing the burly man's head.

Still breathing, huh? More importantly—

"Contract complete."

As I looked up, Jarid greeted me with a twisted smile.
