Chapter 152: Night Guest
After hanging up the call with her father, Genevieve returned to the office to meet Jamal.
"Let’s go for lunch. I’ll buy you lunch," she offered with a smile.
She wanted him to take the time to teach her more of the sign language and also so she could talk to him about something.
Jamal shook his head. "Thank you, but no," he said politely.
Even though he had gotten Abigail’s approval to assist Genevieve, he didn’t think it was okay for him to have lunch with her.
Accepting it because she trusted him didn’t mean that she wouldn’t feel bad if he overdid it. The last thing he wanted to do was to hurt Abigail’s feelings in anyway.
Genevieve’s smile faltered. "Why? Have you had lunch?"
"No. But I don’t think it will be good to have lunch with you. You are my boss. I don’t want people to see us together and get the wrong impression about us. And I don’t want your father to think I’m that close to you."
"Oh," Genevieve said, and then nodded. "I understand. It’s alright. Can you do me a favor though?" She asked, and Jamal looked at her hesitantly.
"It depends on what you want me to do. If it’s something I can, I will do it," he said and her lips twitched.
There was something about the way he spoke and answered questions that made her always feel like she could trust him.
