Chapter 206. Perfect Couple
Meanwhile...
Adrian was living large—or at least pretending to.
He’d been spending tournament prize money like a nobleman’s runaway son, strutting through the bustling market district with the confidence of someone who thought taxes were a myth. Eventually, he sauntered into the most expensive restaurant he could find, sat at the plushest seat available, and ordered the priciest item on the menu like it was a happy meal.
They brought him Crispy Belly of the Sunflame: a dish so rare it was said to come from a mythical celestial fire boar that only lived in volcanoes and high-mana zones. The meat glistened with seared edges and as he took one bite, he practically melted into the chair. Mana from the meat surged through his veins like warm honey, making every cell in his body buzz with delight.
There were only two small, golden-brown pieces on the plate. Two. For five gold coins. The kind of money a normal citizen would work two months to earn. But here he was, eating it like it was a late-night snack. And as he chewed luxuriously, people stared at him, especially the girls.
It wasn’t just the food that made them gawk. His plate hadn’t been brought out by a mere male waiter. No. A stunning, hourglass-figured waitress with glossy hair and a voice like velvet had served it herself.
After his last bite, he dabbed his mouth with a fine handkerchief like he was royalty, then leaned back in his chair like he owned the place.
The waitress swooped in. "Was the meal to your satisfaction, sir? May I bring you anything else?"
He picked at a piece of meat between his teeth with exaggerated leisure. "Not bad. I’ll take a glass of your finest wine."
"Right away, sir." She bowed—and he shamelessly ogled the bounce of her chest as she did.
Being rich is a blessing, he thought, grinning like a pervert. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined a woman bowing before him without legal intervention. He adjusted his glasses and flipped his silky purple hair back dramatically.
