Chapter 148. Lewdly interesting plans!
The last day of the week arrived.
A day to finalize the preparations for our mixer.
I sat in class, flipping through the comic book I got from Adrian’s little brother. I couldn’t understand a damn thing in it, but it was way more interesting than the boring lesson being taught. Mana foundations and all that crap—none of it applied to me. Honestly, most classes at the academy never really did. I was already the strongest one here. No debate.
There were still tons of things I hadn’t tried with my magic—combining and tweaking affinities, exploring new elements beyond the usual wind and fire I always used. But to blend in, to seem normal to society and to my family, I had to show up to this academy. Pretend I gave a damn. Not that I hated it completely—sometimes, it was actually fun, especially with my bunch of idiotic friends doing idiotic things.
Things I couldn’t do in my past life—when I had to play the part of a respectable man, a devoted husband. It stripped me of the freedom to just be.
The day dragged on endlessly. But finally—lunch.
The moment we’d all been waiting for.
Time to help Derrick invite a girl over for the mixer.
We sat in the cafeteria, eating in silence until Adrian shattered it.
"Why not just bring another dude to the mixer, bro? I mean...we won’t judge."
Derrick gritted his teeth. "Don’t you dare make fun of me, you goatish, tickle-brained malt worm!"
