What a bummer.
The guild didn’t even pay a quarter of what I expected. All they gave me was compensation for the elephant skin and its horns. They claimed that my monster was useless since it didn’t have any magic crystals inside, so in the end, I only got ten gold coins. I decided to take a quarter of the meat home and left the rest for other hunters.
They wanted us to eat it together and all, but I was worried about the people I had sent home. Plus, I didn’t want Mom coming back to find Rose and the others in the house, so I hurried back.
When I got home, I found Rin, Rose, and Tama sitting quietly in the dining room. I didn’t expect that at all—it was actually kind of strange. I thought I’d find the house in chaos or something. As soon as they saw me, they lunged at me for a hug, but then—
"I said... no moving around in the house!!"
A cold voice echoed from the kitchen.
They instantly sat back down on the floor like obedient puppies. My brows shot up. Were they actually listening to Sharon?
What the hell did she do to make them obey her like that?
I sighed. Then again... knowing how stubborn Sharon can be, it’s not that surprising.
The house smelled amazing, and Sharon was whipping something up in the kitchen. I walked over to the kitchen after greeting Rose and others, took out all the meat from my item box, and laid it out on the table.
"So... what are you cooking, sis?" I asked.
