Chapter 186 - 183: A Good Dog Does Not Stand in the Way
The next day, after enjoying a sumptuous breakfast, their first stop was one of Bali’s most famous temples, the Holy Spring Temple. The driver was very chatty, and although his English was a bit awkward, there was no hindrance to basic communication.
The name of the Holy Spring Temple derives from a magical pool in the temple that, according to legend, was created by the Great God Indra using a sword to bring forth an immortal spring, purifying the heart and bringing good luck.
Because of her rebirth, Li Si was devoutly using her hands to receive the Holy Spring water, while Leng Mochen was next to her taking photos.
There was a small incident, as one must wear knee-length pants or skirts to enter the temple area. Li Si’s floral long dress was fine, but Leng Mochen had the real experience of wearing a skirt.
Seeing his face full of discomfort made Li Si burst into laughter, "I’m going to take several more pictures of you to enjoy looking at later on!"
Leng Mochen, unable to stop her, simply let go of himself and let her take photos.
Their next stop was Batur Volcano. Along the way, Li Si saw many ritual poles, with offerings placed in baskets below, yellow sails hanging from the poles, and gifts for blessings hanging from the top.
As they got closer to the volcano, the clouds in the sky felt not much further than where they stood.
When they finally reached the vicinity of the crater, billowing white clouds looked like white vapor erupting from the volcano, creating a remarkable scene.
The two kept marveling at the wonders of the Creator. Part of the black volcanic ash from the eruption was already covered by emerging green plants. Nearby was Bali’s largest lake, Batur Lake.
