The Leng Family’s old mansion was lively today. Four members from the eldest uncle’s family, four members from Leng Mochen’s family, along with Mr. Leng Sr. and Li Si, surrounded a table for a sumptuous lunch.
During the post-meal chat, Li Si blushed slightly as she looked at the eager expression of Mr. Leng Sr., who was waiting for her response. Mochen’s mother had previously mentioned that they would get engaged on Valentine’s Day.
But when it came to Mr. Leng Sr., he felt that getting engaged first and then married was dragging the timeline unnecessarily long. As an elder eager to hold his grandchildren, his desires were not being fulfilled promptly.
Li Si glanced at everyone present. Ever since Leng Mochen returned to the Leng Family, he had reverted to his cold and aloof demeanor. Thus, he showed no visible reaction to Mr. Leng Sr.’s insistence on an early marriage. Only when he looked at Li Si did his gaze betray a flicker of emotion.
Leng Qiankai and Leng Qianhan were off to the side, whispering about something unrelated, not engaging in the topic.
Leng Ning acted as though she was listening attentively, but the constant shifts in her body language revealed to Li Si that she was struggling to hold herself together.
Leng Mo maintained her usual indifferent expression, as if nothing could catch her attention.
Mrs. Leng smiled and persuaded, "Dad, look, everyone in our family is here today, and Mochen and Sisi, these two young ones, have already made their intentions clear—a Valentine’s Day engagement banquet. Why are you still in such a hurry? Relax! After the engagement, deciding on a wedding date will be a simple matter."
"Yes, Grandpa, we’re already working hard to prepare for the engagement banquet!" Leng Mochen explained.
Li Si let out a small sigh of relief; a moment ago, she had felt utterly lost and unsure of what to say. Deep down, she didn’t want to get married so soon. If it could wait until after graduation, she’d be much less resistant.
