"Yeah! Why are you so worked up?" Ye Duowei looked a bit uneasy. Could it be that she already knew something?
"I’m not worked up, I just wanted to ask—do we have some sort of grudge between us? Why do you keep calling me with those harassing calls?" Li Si stared at her and asked. She needed to know the reason today because this whole thing had been driving her crazy.
"What? You’re the one who’s been making those silent late-night calls to Li Si?" Bai Shasha, furious, let go of her hand and joined in questioning, "What’s your motive, huh?"
Jia Yuejing was dumbfounded. What kind of situation was this? Bitter rivals meeting and turning red with anger? But the specifics didn’t seem to align with that scenario!
Ye Duowei lowered her head, tears brimming in her eyes. "Boohoo~~ Why are you accusing me like this right after we first met? I just got back to the country! How could I possibly have your number? And I don’t even know you—why would I call you?"
"Li Si, Bai Shasha, there’s probably some kind of misunderstanding here. I can vouch for this—Weiwei indeed just returned from abroad not long ago, and she didn’t know you beforehand. How could she possibly be the one calling you?" Jia Yuejing felt certain it must be a misunderstanding.
"Whether it’s a misunderstanding, I don’t know. But it’s a fact that I’ve been receiving harassing calls for a while. I had someone check it out, and while some of them came from temporary numbers, one of the registered owners was named Ye Duowei. Could it just be a coincidence? There shouldn’t be too many people with that name, right?"
Li Si felt a wave of frustration. Yin Xian clearly had a fiancée—so why was he still pursuing her? Was he just playing with her again? She subconsciously clenched her fists.
Also, if this girl claimed to be Yin Xian’s fiancée, then why was she calling her? And how could someone who had just returned from abroad know her number?
"This..." Jia Yuejing hesitated. There weren’t that many people in Beijing with the surname Ye, and the name Ye Duowei was unlikely to be a common one. But believing that Weiwei had made the calls also seemed unrealistic.
