Chapter 787: Arrogant bastards like you
Denzel repeatedly called Juniper, but she didn’t answer.
"I told her to call me as soon as she reached home," he murmured, his worry mounting. He grabbed his keys and drove to her house, but she didn’t open the door even after repeated bells.
"Did she even come here?" he wondered as he couldn’t sense her Alpha aura. He had never been this unsettled in his entire life. He decided to use his resources to track the taxi she had taken from his place.
Returning to his car, he waited for his friend to call with the details, his eyes never leaving his phone screen. Finally, it rang.
"Denzel, the taxi dropped her at her building," Peter reported from the other end.
"Are you sure, Peter?"
"Yes. I’m looking at the footage now. She definitely entered the building," Peter confirmed.
"Alright. Thank you."
Denzel hung up and headed straight for the building’s security office. "Sir, this is an urgent situation. I am Gamma Denzel, serving Prince Gabriel. I need to check the CCTV footage from this morning," he explained.
The security guard, recognizing the authority in his voice, nodded and stepped aside to let him access the computer. Denzel leaned in, his eyes scanning the recorded files for the moment Juniper arrived.
"There she is!" Denzel muttered, leaning closer as the guard also fixed his eyes on the screen. They watched the playback until they saw a man carrying a limp Juniper out of the building in his arms.
"Who is he?" Denzel asked, his jaw tightening as he tilted his head to get a better look at the stranger’s face.
"I’ve no idea, sir. But he mentioned to the neighbors that he’s related to the Miss," the security guard replied.
Denzel immediately pulled out his phone again, calling Peter to run a check on the car’s plate number visible in the CCTV footage. He paced the small security office, his heart hammering against his ribs until Peter’s voice finally came through.
"Are you there?" Peter asked.
"Yes," Denzel confirmed instantly.
"The car took Juniper to the 24H Medical Care hospital," Peter reported.
"Thanks, Peter. Thanks a lot," Denzel said, his voice thick with relief and lingering dread. He gave a quick nod of gratitude to the guard before sprinting back to his car and driving straight toward the hospital.

"Are you ready? Have you made up your mind?" Cillian inquired, returning to Juniper’s bedside after giving her the hour she had requested to think.
"Why should I care if your father is going to die?" Juniper questioned, her voice cold despite her weakened state.
Cillian’s brows knitted together, and he stepped closer to the bed, his shadow looming over her. "We did feed you while you were growing up with us, June. And the surname you still use is ours. Dad understands that you underwent terrible things, but that is on you. Not us. You were the cause of those things," he affirmed, his tone devoid of sympathy.
Juniper’s grip tightened on the hospital blanket, her knuckles turning white. "You still blame me. You and Daxton always hurt me. You never acted like my big brothers. And where was I supposed to run? Your father promised he would take care of me when the visitors from the orphanage came frequently until I turned eighteen. Don’t try to manipulate me with the ’kindness’ you threw at me for your own benefits."
Cillian’s face twisted into a sneer, and he lunged forward, grasping her arm with a bruising grip. "You’re coming with me," he muttered, preparing to pull her bodily from the bed.
He didn’t get the chance. A powerful hand clamped onto his wrist, stopping him mid-motion. Before Cillian could even turn to see who had intervened, a heavy punch landed across his face.
The force of the blow sent Cillian stumbling back, his glasses skidding across the floor as he hit the wall.
Denzel stood over him, his chest heaving, eyes blazing with a protective fury. He didn’t look at Cillian; his gaze was fixed entirely on Juniper, checking for any sign of further harm.
"Touch her again," Denzel growled, "and you won’t be walking out of this hospital."
The patients turned their gazes toward them while the staff nearby came running in their direction.
Cillian grabbed Denzel by his collar, his face contorted with rage. "How dare a Gamma hit an Alpha?"
"I’m no ordinary Gamma," Denzel said, his gaze remaining locked on Cillian.
"Please, don’t create a commotion here! This is a hospital! You two have to get out right away," the head nurse shouted, stepping between them as other staff members moved to shield the nearby patients.
Cillian shoved Denzel away with a sneer and stooped to pick up his glasses from the floor. He took a deep breath, smoothing his clothes and adjusting his frames.
"We won’t do this again. Please, forgive us," Cillian said to the room as he exerted his Alpha presence to settle the panicked expressions of the staff. He then turned his cold gaze back to Denzel.
Juniper sat huddled in the hospital bed, trembling as the familiar terror of her brother returned to her mind.
"Tell him!" Cillian told her. "Tell him I’m your brother!"
"The brother who threw her out of the house after her divorce?" Denzel countered, stepping forward to block Cillian’s view of her. "Just leave before I have to have you locked in a San Ravendale prison. Trust me, the cells here are much more terrible for arrogant bastards like you."
Cillian narrowed his eyes, realizing he was outnumbered in a territory where the Vittileo name held no immediate power. He looked past Denzel at Juniper one last time.
"Leave before I really lock you up in one," Denzel pronounced.
Cillian gazed at Juniper and sneered before walking out of their sights.
When he was completely out, Denzel lowered himself to the chair next to the bed. "Why didn’t you tell me? How many times are you going to put yourself in danger like this?"
