Chapter 759: A Good Woman
The elves all knew that at this moment, Jason was the most dangerous man in this world, and if he truly wanted to, he could eradicate them all! But Jason wasn’t the sort of person to care about what other people thought about him, and once he was done with the greetings, he listened as the eldest prince spoke up.
"We, the members of the Arandelle Royal Family, on behalf of all citizens, cannot thank you enough for what you’ve done, Lady Gina. You haven’t just saved the life of the Queen, you saved the life of a mother, and a good woman who was loved by millions across the world. And for that, we can never truly repay you. We have prepared a festival to be held here in the capital city tonight in honor of your bravery and sacrifice. We hope you will be willing to attend."
Gina hugged Jason’s arm and looked up at him with a curious expression on her face. Even though Gina wanted to go to the festival, she knew that Jason wanted to go home as soon as possible, so she was only going to go to the festival if Jason said it was okay. Jason looked down at his woman, and he smiled at her, and Jason was rewarded with a bright smile from Gina as she nodded to the prince and said she would be honored to attend the festival! The elves all beamed happily once Gina said she would come, and the eldest prince spoke up.
"That’s splendid! Please come this way, our father asked us to bring you to him once you arrive. He wanted to be here to welcome you himself, but I’m sure you understand why he couldn’t leave our mother’s side."
Gina nodded along as she followed behind the eldest prince. Gina couldn’t fault Farlow for not welcoming her at all because she knew that if the roles were reversed, she would have definitely done the same thing! Gina had only been away from Jason for a week, and she hadn’t been able to let go of his arm all this time! If she was away from Jason for years, then she would just lock them both in a room so no one could disturb them!
Jason and Gina spoke about random things through their mental link as they passed the various hallways. Since Gina had been here for a while, she knew the castle very well, and she explained some of the more interesting things to Jason as they passed them! There were many paintings on the wall, as well as some sculptures and artefacts that were being used as decoration. In front of each royal sculpture, there was a weapon, and Gina explained that the weapon was the one used by the previous Kings of the elves. The elven Kings all had a single sword called the [Wind Shear] that was their primary weapon, but they also had a secondary weapon, and those secondary weapons are kept in the castle after the king passes away as a way to remember them. Behind the pair, Stella was walking with her hands held in front of her and a small smile on her face, and Stella could feel her smile widen as she watched Jason and Gina. In truth, Stella had been very worried about Jason and Gina’s relationship. After everything that happened in Aquinas, Stella thought that Gina would have some sort of anger towards Jason, but Stella was glad that Gina understood that Jason wasn’t in control of himself back then. Stella, on the other hand, didn’t feel any anger toward her master at all. Stella had once been a soldier, and she knew better than anyone what the Vympir toxin could do to a person! The fact that Jason was able to fight against that toxin and regain himself at all was already worthy of praise! Stella was just happy that her master hadn’t been lost forever!
There were maids moving about the castle quickly, and all the maids stopped and bowed to the four of them as they passed. Gina waved to some of the maids that she recognized, and Jason smiled whenever he saw a maid returning Gina’s wave with a smile of their own! As they spoke, Gina eventually told Jason about how she snuck up the tower and saw Farlow with his unconscious wife.
’... it was really sad, but all I could think about in that moment was how beautiful she was. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone as beautiful as that before...’
Jason hummed with a raised brow, and he wondered how beautiful someone had to be to make Gina say something like that! Jason knew he was a little biased since he loved Gina, but he had never met any woman who could match Gina’s beauty. So if someone like Gina was praising someone else, then that person had to be breathtaking! Eventually, Jason and Gina were led towards one of the largest bedrooms in the castle, and when they entered, they were greeted by the sight of Farlow sitting on a chair beside the large bed and holding his wife’s hand. The Elven Queen was sitting up in the bed, and she was smiling at something Farlow had told her. Her skin was pale and tired from the long years of unconsciousness, but even with her sickly appearance, Jason could understand why Gina had said the things she said. The Elven Queen was fucking breathtaking!
"Gina, Jason. I’m glad you’ve returned."
Farlow stood from his chair once he saw who had entered and turned to his wife when she squeezed his hand softly. Farlow smiled, and he made the introductions.
"Honey, this is Gina and Jason. Gina was the one responsible for finding your spirit and returning it to you, and Jason is her betrothed. Gina, Jason, this is the most important woman in my life, my wife, Queen Camille."
"Oh, you can be so cheesy sometimes, Farlow. Why are you trying to embarrass an old lady like me? Gina dear, I can never thank you enough for what you’ve done for me. You were willing to risk your life in order to save my own, and that is something I will never forget for as long as I live."
Queen Camille raised her hand towards Jason and Gina, and the pair moved closer to the bed to greet her. Jason leaned down first and gave her a short hug with a smile before he stepped back to allow Gina to come closer to the bed. Gina sat beside Camille and leaned down to hug the beautiful queen with a kind smile on her face as she said:
"I simply did what I thought was right. Your family was there for my family when we needed them, so I’m only returning the favour. How are you feeling? You were unconscious for a long time. Is your body alright?"
Queen Camille smiled at Gina’s concern, and she told Gina that she was feeling more alive than ever before. Although Queen Camille had been unconscious for a long time, for Queen Camille, it felt like she had just closed her eyes a few years ago, and by the time she woke up, years had passed by in the blink of an eye. But Queen Camille knew that a lot of things had changed in the time she was unconscious, and she was slowly trying to get used to all of it. At the side, Jason and Farlow watched patiently as their partners had their conversation, and Jason glanced to the side as he heard Farlow speak up calmly.
"You’ve found yourself a good woman, Jason. Your father would be proud of you."
Jason hummed calmly, and he turned to see Gina laughing softly at something that Queen Camille had said. Jason already knew how amazing Gina was even before they started dating, so Jason didn’t need Farlow to tell him that.
