Chapter 121: Proper Alliances
Darren was standing in front of a car that had come to pick him up, and Jason felt his brow rise when he saw the logo on the car! It was a Rolls Royce Sweptail. Jason was someone who dealt with cars a lot in his time as a mechanic, so he had obviously heard about the car before! The Sweptail was extremely rare and could go for anywhere between ten and fifteen million dollars! Who the hell was driving this?
The Rolls Royce opened up, and Jason watched an older man come out of the car. The man walked up to Darren and put his hand on Darren’s shoulder to calm him, and he turned to Jason with a smile as Jason approached. Once Jason was close enough, he could finally see the similarities between the man and Darren. They had to be related somehow.
The older man was named Ulysses White, and he was a retired stockbroker who belonged to the White family, a family that dealt with very old money. He was Darren’s father, and it would be an understatement to say that he was shocked when he saw the video that was uploaded on the internet about Jared and Jason. Darren never told his father that he was being bullied in school, and he tried to always hide any bruises he got from Jared because he didn’t want to worry the man.
But there was no way to hide the video that surfaced recently, and Ulysses immediately left everything he was doing and came to this school to meet with both Jared and Jason personally. Ulysses already spoke with Jared, and he assured him that he would be hearing from his lawyers very soon, but it was Jason whom Ulysses really wanted to meet. Jason had protected his son when no one else was able to, and to Ulysses, that meant a lot.
"Jason Marc. I’ve heard a lot about you from my son. It’s a pleasure to meet you."
Ulysses stretched his hand out to Jason to take in a firm handshake. Jason made sure not to use too much power since it would definitely hurt the man, but Ulysses still grimaced a little from the force behind Jason’s grip. Ulysses smiled slightly after they separated and spoke again.
"I saw your honorable feat on the internet, and I decided it would be discourteous not to meet with you in person. This son of mine might be a superhuman, but he has a soft heart. I feared he would be treated badly if I took him to an elite school to study, but I didn’t know that the case would be the same even in a public school. I fear I’ve been too shortsighted as a father. You have my thanks for making me see the truth."
Ulysses gave Jason a small bow, and Jason shook his head. Jason was completely lost as to what Ulysses was talking about. The entire situation was absurd, and Jason decided he wouldn’t get too involved in their personal family matter. But it was obvious just from the way Ulysses carried himself, as well as the car he had arrived in, that they were from a very rich family, and Jason decided that the least he could do was to have a good relationship with them in case he ever needed them in the future. There was more to power than just the money in your pocket or the strength you possess. The relationships you make with other powerful people around you also play a big part in how powerful you can become.
Jason spoke with a calm tone.
