Chapter 40: Trust and It’s Aftereffects
Strangers and other people weren't important enough for Jason to tell them anything about his abilities, and he didn't trust anyone enough to expose his system. But his family was important enough, and he trusted them enough to tell them about the Legion.
Jason sighed and spoke up calmly while standing.
"Okay, I need to show you something. You need to promise me you won't freak out, and you can't tell anyone what you're about to see here."
Gina's brow furrowed in surprise. She pulled her shirt down and sat up, placing her hands between her closed legs. She wondered what Jason could possibly be planning to tell her, and she couldn't even try to hide her curiosity when she spoke.
"What's going on? You sound like you're about to tell me something crazy, like you murdered someone or something... Wait. Y-You're not a murderer, are you? Because if you are, we need to figure out how to hide the body."
Jason chuckled at Gina's dry joke and shook his head. He had no idea how she could've possibly jumped all the way to that conclusion, and he wasn't even going to bother trying to figure it out.
"No, I didn't kill anyone. Just... alright, come out here."
Jason's last words weren't said to Gina, and Gina furrowed her brow and wondered who he was talking to. But her eyes widened in shock as she felt an insane amount of mana pouring out from Jason and filling the room! An astral figure suddenly appeared beside Jason, and it quickly formed into the shape of a two-meter-tall wolf with white fur and purple markings! A Magical Beast!
"Jason! Move!"
Gina immediately began to call her mana as she saw the beast! Gina had gone into many Gates over the past few years, and her natural instinct whenever she faced off against a Magical Beast was to kill it before it could kill her! Gina wasn't going to wait and see what it was going to do!
Woosh!
