Chapter 9: Stamina Depletion
'That means I can keep growing stronger as long as I keep killing strong monsters and taking them as subordinates! That's freaking amazing!'
Jason felt a wide smile spreading on his face and he nodded in satisfaction at his deduction! He had to test his theories later when he had more subordinates, but for now, he was just glad that he was alive! He turned to look at the other stats from his summon.
Jason only needed on Upgrade Points to upgrade the wolf, but he would need to gather sixty more Kill Points before he could get that single Upgrade Point. It seemed outrageous, but when Jason thought about it, it bothered him less. He would need to kill a lot of beasts to upgrade even one of them so that only meant that the upgrade would be something worthwhile.
There was a connection he could feel with the wolf, almost like he could read its thoughts and emotions through a mind link. Jason put his hand out for the wolf to shake it and it raised its paw and put it in his hand! The paw felt real and tangible, like the wolf was still alive, but its body warmth had gone and now it was cold to the touch!
It was strange seeing a two-meter-tall wolf acting so subservient, but Jason couldn't help the small grin that appeared on his face when he saw the wolf's tail wagging excitedly!
"Good boy."
"Yip! Yip! Howl~!!"
The wolf suddenly howled loudly and Jason quickly put his hand on it's mouth and mentally told it to shut up! Did it want to tell all the other wolves where they were!?
The wolf immediately deflated submissively as its ears dropped flat and Jason listened for any sign of movement around him.
