Chapter 198: Chocolates, Warnings, and a Whispered Surprise
Days had passed since Zethan and Lilia returned home. Zethan had resumed going out for work, and usually, Lilia accompanied him. But today, for some unknown reason, she didn’t feel like going.
"Are you sure nothing’s wrong?" Zethan asked with concern. He wasn’t sure what to think, especially since she had complained earlier about a stomach ache.
"I ate in the middle of the night," she said, chewing as she pushed some corn into her mouth. "I think that’s why I’m feeling so tired."
Zethan nodded, dressed in a plain white shirt and fitted black pants. Lilia, on the other hand, wore a baggy shirt and pajama pants—her go-to comfy outfit lately.
"I guess I won’t be having an unforgettable break with you," Zethan teased.
Lilia’s face flushed, knowing exactly what he meant.
"Oh please, Zethan. Stop exaggerating," she said, rolling her eyes. "You’ve been working just fine without me."
"But it’s different with you," he said, leaning closer. "Do you know how happy I get just seeing your beautiful face at the office? Hmm? And now this one will be forgettable, since you’re not there."
Lilia laughed softly at his words.
These past few days, she had been going to work with Zethan—after so much begging, he finally gave in and allowed her to join him, since they worked at the same office. But now, the tables had turned. He was the one trying to convince her.
Zethan turned to her and spoke gently, "Remember to eat fruits, drink enough water, and get some proper rest. That’ll help a lot."
