Chapter 108: Quick….
Lilia stepped out as soon as she was done with her bath, wrapped in a soft pink robe. Her damp hair had already been blow-dried, now looking even silkier as it flowed around her shoulders. Her cheeks were still flushed from the earlier embarrassment.
She had barely stepped out when he sat up and headed toward the bathroom. "Eat the fruits on the table, okay?" he said before disappearing behind the bathroom door.
Lilia’s gaze followed him briefly, then she turned toward the table. The plates were covered. She walked over to the wardrobe and pulled out sleek white silk nightwear—a long gown that felt cool against her skin as she slipped it on. Tying her hair into a loose bun, she made her way back to the bedside. Pulling the rolling table closer, she uncovered the plates to find a beautifully arranged mix of vegetable and fruit salad.
Her heart warmed slightly. She had a feeling she knew why Zethan had done this—it was because he was worried. After he had bitten her, maybe he thought she needed something healthy to make her strong. Something to bring her strength back.
Quietly, she ate, savoring each bite. Once done, she pushed the table aside and lay on the bed, her eyes drifting toward the large castle window. The evening was already fading, the last rays of the sunset casting a golden hue across the room—like a final light marking the end of the day.
With a soft sigh, Lilia closed her eyes, already beginning to drift off to sleep.
Some time passed.
Zethan stepped out of the bathroom, his hair still slightly damp. He didn’t bother blow-drying it, instead running a hand through it in a smooth motion, brushing the strands back with his towel. Dressed in a pajama shirt and pants, he walked quietly toward the bed.
Lilia had already drifted off to sleep.
Gently, he lay beside her, pulling her closer to him as he cuddled her tightly yet gently, then carefully covered both of them with the blanket. He adjusted the duvet slightly, making sure she was comfortable.
Lilia instinctively leaned in, wrapping her arms around him. He breathed in her scent—it was soft, calming, addictive. With a content sigh, his lips curled upwards, listening to the quiet rhythm of her heartbeat.
