Chapter 64: The Suprise Wedding
Lilia couldn't comprehend what was happening. Her heart began to drum rapidly in her chest as the woman before her continued speaking, her voice firm yet laced with urgency.
"We need to begin your preparations now," the assistant urged.
Lilia shook her head, her brows furrowing deeply. Confusion twisted inside her, tightening around her thoughts. "What do you mean my wedding is tonight?" she asked, her voice sharp with disbelief. "Are you saying I'll be the only one at the ceremony? My husband isn't even here."
She exhaled sharply, frustration threading through her voice. "Go and check properly if this information is correct."
Anna flinched slightly, her face paling even further. It was clear that she had been sent to deliver this message under strict orders—perhaps even under the threat of punishment.
Her voice came out in a stutter, barely above a whisper. "I'm very sorry, Miss Lilia, but this was planned by Mr. Zethan. He left earlier... He said he wanted to surprise you with your wedding today."
Lilia stood frozen, her mind struggling to grasp the weight of those words.
A surprise wedding?
The thought sat heavily in her chest, conflicting emotions swirling inside her. Her heart warmed slightly at the idea—was this why he had accepted the soup earlier? Had he been planning this all along?
But even as she considered that possibility, something didn't feel entirely right. Finally, she let out a soft breath and gave a small nod. "I'll be there in a minute."
Anna nodded in return before stepping aside, quietly excusing herself.
