Zethan still couldn't believe what had just happened. His Loris—his precious little wife—had actually bitten his neck. Hard.
The sharp sting still lingered, but amusement flickered in his stormy dark eyes. It deepened as he processed the moment, his mind replaying the sensation of her small teeth sinking into his skin.
How many times had this woman caught him off guard? Who knew she had such feisty side?
Then she spoke, her voice both annoyed and trembling.
"That's for scaring me!" Lilia huffed, glaring at him with her wide, expressive eyes. "Do you know how terrified I was? Pl..please, don't do that again. I promise you, that was so scary. You shouldn't play tricks like that on people."
Her words tumbled out in a rush, her frustration evident, but to Zethan's surprise...
He found it cute.
She looked like an irritated kitten whose owner had dared to make it share its milk with a new pet.
Her small nose scrunched up, her lips pursed in a way that only made him want to tease her more.
"You can put me down now," she added, folding her arms in defiance.
Zethan tilted his head, a slow grin spreading across his lips. "Nope," he said easily. "You're the one who said you won't... you can't. So, stick to your word."
