Chapter 43: His Room
Evie finally nodded before bowing respectfully as she spoke.
"As you wish, Miss Lilia."
Since she was under Miss Lilia's command and not Mr Zethan's, any order she received from her superior was one she needed to honor and respect.
Lilia followed Evie as she walked toward the far side of the mansion, where a small gate—more suitable for a person than for a car or any larger vehicle—stood. The gate creaked open, and Lilia found herself facing two people engaged in a sparring match. To her surprise, they wielded sword-like weapons, their movements fast and intense—almost inhuman. The speed at which they moved was too much for her eyes to follow.
Then again, perhaps it was just her perception playing tricks on her. The scene, however, was beautifully arranged. The sparring took place in a spacious, well-kept field with benches surrounding it.
Her gaze shifted, and she saw Zethan sitting on one of the benches. His legs were crossed, leaning in with an unbothered expression, as if he didn't care at all about the potential dangers the sparring participants might face. The area was laid out in a square, with strategically placed benches that allowed for a perfect view of the action. It was undeniably beautiful.
Just then, Zethan's eyes shifted toward her. Lilia stilled, inexplicably caught in his gaze. For a moment, she felt like time slowed. Then, with a quiet exhale, she began walking toward him, her footsteps light on the grass.
Evie, bowing politely, spoke up. "I'll be here if you need me, Miss Lilia."
Lilia nodded in acknowledgment.
She began walking toward Zethan's area and took a seat on the nearby bench. Just then, she heard a voice call out, "Loris, come here." There was no denying it was Zethan's voice.
For some unknown reason, she avoided his gaze, her heart beating loudly.
