Chapter 48: A really tough battle
This time, he seemed to pick up on Elliot’s mental command and positioned himself between the nearby tree and the orc. The orc’s horizontal attack cut him in half, as he had nothing to defend himself with, his arms seemingly unable to recover.
But as it cut him, the power of the attack weakened, striking the tree behind him and splitting it in two, further weakening it and ending up barely grazing Elliot’s strengthened sword.
He had learned something when his summons were killed: Once they die, they become temporary stat points for him.
And the ratio of stats they become is equal to the ratio he used to strengthen them. For example, in this case, the goblin has 20 points in vitality, 15 in strength, and 5 in agility. These come from 4, 3, and 1 stat points, respectively.
When this tank dies, Elliot’s stats increase in the same proportion (4 in vitality, 3 in defense, and 1 in agility) and slowly decrease as the summon is restored within him. Although he has not yet been able to figure out how they are restored, he is sure that it has something to do with his mental power because it wears down every time this happens, although surprisingly, not by much.
But he has discovered how long these enhanced stats last: approximately 20 to 30 minutes at maximum. Then, the first enhanced stat slowly decreases, followed by the second, and so on, over a period of approximately 1 hour.
Therefore, he now had a maximum of 30 minutes (and 15 minutes recommended by his plan) to complete his plan.
Kill the wizard before he kills his rat.
Elliot took advantage of the moment when the axe struck his sword to deflect it toward the ground, causing it to hit the floor with great force, making it shake violently. At the same time, he jumped onto the tree that had been split in half and threw it at the orc.
