Chapter 25: Finally, in the Awakened Rank
The next morning.
'The rat population has decreased...'
By this time, Elliot was at the other end of the vast forest and had killed from north to south and from east to west.
At some point, he stopped counting the number of rats he had killed because he was mentally exhausted, but it was surely more than 800. Even so, he hadn't had enough to complete a whole point for several hours.
He had spent so long hunting rats that he had forgotten to look at the time, and it was the sun's rays crossing through the leaves of the large trees that made him realize that dawn had broken.
"I didn't realize I had spent the whole night hunting."
Finally, he could relax and look at the system. More than two hours ago, he got the sixth point, which was just the third agility point he needed. There was no longer any need to continue the hunt.
Many rat bodies were scattered everywhere, but honestly, he had no intention of picking them up. He had picked up approximately 600 before; he didn't need any more. It would be annoying. So he ignored them and went straight back to the city, where he sold them at a good price with Ruth. Although it came as a big shock, it didn't bother him.
After obtaining more than $15,000, he returned to his apartment.
The moment he had been longing for had arrived.
He was going to move up the Ranks. Although he had only recently awakened, it felt like a long time had passed. Perhaps because they had been days of continuous stress or perhaps because of how anxious he was.
