Chapter 664: Regret, Pain
Zagreus POV
Zagreus stood still as his body reformed in the gap between dimensions.
The ground beneath was shaped like a chess board.
The black and white tiles extended endlessly, like a floor stretching into infinity.
Above him loomed a sky of endless shifting shadow, empty and without stars.
There was no wind, or warmth in this place, just cold silence.
In front of him stood F #4, the doll-like being who had guided him into this world before.
"Welcome back, Zagreus Hargraves," she said calmly.
She did not praise him or, acknowledge of success.
Zagreus hadn’t done anything worth praising.
He was here, yes, but only because ’Nameless Death’ had carried him.
That man had taken on every burden, fought every battle, and cleared the path that Zagreus couldn’t.
