With only two shards left, the air around the war camp had become thick with tension.
Kyle stood at the center of the large briefing tent, surrounded by leaders and key personnel.
Maps of enemy territory and shard locations covered the tables, while mana stones lit the corners with a cold blue hue. Everyone was silent, waiting for their young master to speak.
Kyle’s gaze swept across the room, landing briefly on each person before settling on Grand Duchess Amane.
She stood tall and proud, clad in her battle uniform, her eyes sharp and unwavering. She was the last of the chosen to target a shard other than Kyle himself.
"There are only two shards left. You all know what that means. The God of Justice will begin to get desperate. The moment the ninth shard is destroyed, the last one becomes his final anchor. We can expect him to react. Violently."
Kyle began, his tone calm but resolute.
No one interrupted him. Even the most seasoned generals held their breath.
Kyle turned fully to the Grand Duchess.
"Your Grace. I believe the god will try to divert his wrath toward you. I’ve been attacking him directly, and it’s likely he’ll change tactics now—try to weaken our side by eliminating the rest of our forces before I can land the final blow."
Amane met his eyes with a slight nod.
"I figured as much."
