As the thick canopy swallowed the last sliver of moonlight, Kyle stepped into the forest with silent ease, every sense on high alert.
The unnatural stillness clung to the air like a warning. Birds didn’t chirp. Insects didn’t hum. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath.
Behind him, Silvy followed with quick, light steps. She moved gracefully, eyes sharp, her expression unreadable.
Kyle stopped just before the trees grew too close and turned toward her.
"Do you want to hunt with me, or would you prefer to go alone?"
He asked calmly, scanning the forest’s edge as he spoke.
Silvy pursed her lips in thought, then looked up at him with a confident gleam in her eyes.
"Alone. I want to show you how far I’ve come."
Kyle’s eyebrow lifted slightly.
"You’re still a bow user. These creatures move fast. You might not get a second shot."
Her expression didn’t waver. Instead, she smirked.
