Chapter 1329: An Imitation
"What took you so long, Lory?" Fred looked up from the desk that was piled with papers and a laptop, while on the other table, Jay looked lifeless as he stared at his computer, right next to him, Clift was busy answering a phone call and Fargo was half asleep in a chair with papers cover his face.
Fargo blows the papers off his face and then waves at Lory. "You lost, didn’t you?"
"No!" She immediately denied it but the strange high pitch of her voice easily betrayed her.
Fargo cackled, obviously not believing her.
Feigned ignorance by their reaction, Lory straightened her back gracefully, "Ehm, so what do you want me to do?" Lory walked across the room.
Fred tapped his fingers on the stack of documents he had prepared on the table, "I need your approval for several documents. Most of them are about the subsidy budget for the regions and permission to continue delayed projects because our budget is limited so we have to determine the priority scale carefully,"
"So I just approve it, right" Lory was confident in Fredhardt’s abilities so she did not question him.
"For now, but since you’re here, I’ll give you a crash course to understand the situation of our kingdom, so after this, you should read these reports" Fred placed another stack of documents for Lory to review later.
"Ugh, studying" Lory winced as the past trauma of taking a week-long intensive course before the final exam came back like a wrecking ball that hit her right in the face.
"If you don’t like reading papers, I’ve converted them all into PDFs" Fred shook the small USB and then kindly stuck it into the laptop in front of Lory.
Lory wanted to scream, her whole face scrunched up like a used towel "How thoughtful," she sarcastically said.
