Chapter 106: Alive(1)
Fiona stood there, still staring at Steve.
Her legs were trembling, her thoughts a storm of disbelief, confusion, and awe. She blinked a few times, as if doing so would shake away the bizarre feeling that still lingered in the air.
’...That overwhelming surge of magic—what was that?’
’What the hell...? Her breath hitched slightly. What was that amazing aura I just felt? Was that... was that him?’
She had never truly felt Steve’s magic presence before. He wasn’t exactly the type to flaunt it. But what she had just sensed—it wasn’t ordinary. It had been enough to send shivers through her entire body.
’Was that his magic aura? Is he the one that controlled the beast?....or Is he the reason it took its own life?’ The thought itself was terrifying.
’Could a creature so violent... have been so afraid of him that it would rather die than face him?’
Her mind couldn’t settle. And yet—she had seen it with her own eyes. The beast had paused. Just for a moment. It had turned to Steve. Looked at him. And then... it ended its own life.
Fiona swallowed hard.
She stood there awkwardly, her mouth slightly parted, unable to form words. Then Steve’s voice broke the silence.
"Come on." he said quietly.
