Novelty
Edrick did not waste any time. He consumed the new bloodline, which had taken the same form as that of the Chen bloodline–A solid sphere of crimson. It melted inside the scion's mouth, spreading to every portion of his body…
Since this particular bloodline was an original creation of the system, Anoteros found it much easier to integrate than the noble bloodline acquired from making Xiaolie submit.
Impurities were expelled, but less than previously. Also, the bloodline was perfectly integrated and dominated by his original bloodline… Edrick was finding it quite handy how easily his newly acquired goods were made a perfect part of him, but he knew that this was because they had been given by the system.
If he attempted to consume a bloodline he found on his own, it would be much less likely for him to integrate it completely right after consumption… Regardless, he bathed in a small pond to get rid of the impurities on his body.
He had noticed that the descriptions he saw earlier hadn’t detailed the specific uses for the technique and such… So he pulled up his system panels again.

‘Mmh… I see. They were made to work in tandem, huh?’
The brunt of the actual abilities was placed into the bloodline, and the technique was made to enhance the former…
‘Anyway… Another transformation ability? I wonder what I look like’
Edrick already had experience with transforming his body and ‘pulling’ onto the strength of his bloodlines, so he was quickly able to figure out how to trigger this new transformation.
He could feel that, much like his sasquatch transformation, there was a degree of control over how the final result would look. In fact, he felt as if combining elements of the simian and elven transformations was very much possible. However, the noble was also able to tell that the strength of his new bloodline was not yet high enough to allow such a thing. He would need to train with his new technique before attempting something of the sort.
After several minutes, while still standing in the middle of a pond in his birthday suit, Anoteros began to change. His muscles spasmed, and it looked as though his bones were moving beneath his flesh…
His already long hair grew longer and turned white, his skin turned from white to dark-blue, and his body changed stature. His wide shoulders moved inward, he became more sleek, more lithe, and he grew by ten whole centimeters, as the length of his limbs became even longer than before.
The scion was still recognisable, and his overall frame was not completely changed. He remained a very wide and incredibly muscular man.
‘What a novel feeling’
He reached for his ears, finding them to be exceedingly long and pointy, as well as thick. His silhouette featured two pointy protuberances now. He looked down at his reflection in the water. His facial structure was nearly identical to what it was before. His purple eyes remained, but they had a subtle glow to them now.
Edrick instinctively grabbed his limp wyrm. It had changed a bit, too, losing some girth to gain in length instead. The difference was barely noticeable, though. The more surprising aspect was the new colour of his skin.
He wasn’t quite the same shade as the Underwood Elves. His dark-blue was even darker than theirs.
‘It actually feels weirder than turning into an ape, somehow’
The noble cracked his neck before sitting back down into the pond, immediately beginning to cultivate ‘Underwood Elf Champion Unique Cultivation Technique’... The name was quite lengthy, but he didn’t pay much mind to that.
It seemed obvious that cultivating the technique whilst transformed would boost the efficiency–And indeed, the flow of energy throughout his body felt especially swift and smooth for a first practice.
The way this particular technique was cultivated was rather unique. Instead of a particular pattern which needed to be followed or for certain conditions to be fulfilled, the point was to allow the natural flow to continue as normal, but focus on turning the inner energy invisible. It was actually a rather arduous process.
Anoteros struggled for several hours before seeing some success, and in doing so, he accidentally turned part of his body invisible. The sight was quite freaky from the outside. Without meaning to, he was essentially turning his skin translucent, showing off his raw muscles, or sometimes even his bones or organs.
It was especially bizarre when these different ‘layers’ of invisibility inequally overlapped with one another, resulting at one point in his eyeballs and brain to simply float in place, but with his hair still fully visible.
He could probably pull off some impressive scares with this... However, what caught his attention was that the so-called ‘invisibility ability’ mentioned in the description of the bloodline did not just extend to himself. The water around him was being randomly made invisible as well.
Being submerged in an unseen liquid was rather bizarre, but Anoteros felt quite thrilled about this discovery. Indeed, it seemed like the way this ability was described had been purposefully vague due to the fact that it encompassed a lot more than just the most basic idea people made of invisibility.
‘This will definitely come in handy to fight… I wonder if it also involves enhancing the effects of something like a potion of invisibility? I will have to make some tests…’
After several more hours of training, he finally rose back up, and as he did so, the transformation naturally wore off. It would appear that it was temporary for the moment, but considering how long he had maintained it, that limitation wasn’t much of a concern.
The scion dressed back up, and in the company of his three bestial companions, he decided to pay a visit to the Underwood Elves to tell them that he would be returning to the world outside Eltysia, and that upon his next return, he would head for the Great Plains to further train.
He wasn’t planning on revealing his new form to them just yet. He hoped that the Blutgar had not been observing him just now, so that this new form could serve as a surprise when their inevitable confrontation came.
For now, though? He was going to flex his new bloodline to his clan, probably take care of a new batch of maid trainees, and check on Fanqia’s pregnancy… He had spent a long while inside the realm this time and had somewhat lost track of time.
‘I should probably check on Zhicheng as well…’
