Progress For A Valuable Possession
Unfortunately, apart from the current script’s protagonist, Edrick met with no one else in particular. It seemed that everyone was either away at the moment or locked up in their private quarters... Presumably cultivating.
Thus, after speaking with Zhicheng, Anoteros could only return to his own residence for now.
On his way back, he sensed something interesting through one of the links established thanks to a crest.
He walked with calm strides toward the very first wing of the residence, which had been built with the purpose of housing the maids. Without knocking, he went up to one of the doors and opened it.
The room itself was perfectly normal–Just the regular maid room. Though the arrangement of the furniture wasn’t the same as it was originally, and some decorations had been added... It was still nought but a normal room.
The window was open, letting sunlight and fresh air in, illuminating the maid sitting at her desk with what looked like a mouse walking around with stiff legs, considering that it clearly lacked the usual speediness of a rodent.
“M-Master…! Greetings!”
Edrick put his hand on her shoulder, keeping her seated on her chair as he leaned against the desk. He took a closer look at the mouse.
“Seems like I was correct… You’ve unlocked your innate bloodline first, heh? How are you feeling, Jingyi?”
“Master, I… I think I feel just like usua–Oh…”
The headmaid suddenly felt something constrict in her throat and stomach, causing her to grip onto the table’s edge tightly... She lost concentration, which caused the mouse to return to its original state–That of an inanimate corpse.
“I-”
The white-haired girl rushed over to her window, puking out an impressive amount of what looked like black tar. She vomited so much that she was winded by the end of it, her chest heaving up and down as she failed to find the strength to push herself upright and instead simply let herself lean against the window, staring at the dark sludge she had just ejected out of her.
She recognised this substance. Fanqia had puked the same thing when she had unlocked Velvet Pixie Bloodline… Only that the matriarch had not puked nearly as much of it as Jingyi just had. Not even close.
You could fill an entire bucket with what the maid had just expelled from her body.
Anoteros had held her long hair as she vomited and patted her on the back.
“And now, how do you feel?”
“M-Master… I… I feel… I feel strangely good? I don’t get it, but I feel lighter all of a sudden. And… I can see some sort of dark thread…”
She turned to the dead mouse on her desk. The thread was coming from it.
Edrick sat her down on the bed.
The scion wore a grin on his face. After all, Jingyi had finally awoken something! She had just awoken her Eccentric Fangshi bloodline… It was only one of the many special traits bearing the same name to awaken, but now that the process had begun, the rest would surely follow soon enough…
Even better yet, she had already managed to perform necromancy. It was only for a moment on a simple mouse, but it was nonetheless necromancy accomplished through sheer force of will. She had no cultivation methods to do this. She had no knowledge of corpse refining or any other such things.
It had been done by merely thinking about it and some grit.
It was incredible. If Edrick wasn’t an Elt, the Sect Of The Old Decay would want to murder him instantly to get such an incredibly talented disciple amongst their ranks.
Also, it was rather impressive just how much of that black tar she had expelled. This was supposed to be the physical manifestation of impurities that had accumulated due to her bloodline having been suppressed and unable to manifest for so long… However, Jingyi was about the same age as Fanqia, and yet… The first wife had only accumulated a small amount of impurities.
If Edrick was not mistaken, this should mean that Jingyi’s bloodline alone was tremendously powerful. This was incredible news considering that she also had an innate physique and even her soul, mind, et cetera, that were special and bore the same name as her bloodline.
Once she had unlocked it all, she would likely be wielding so much talent in the arts of necromancy that any sect that had anything to do with the subject would go on their hands and knees to beg for her to join them.
After all, if she could use necromancy at this stage–Without any training–What would she be able to do with appropriate techniques, experience, and her full potential at her disposal? That was sect leader material right here.
Unfortunately for them, Jingyi was Edrick Lucien Anoteros’s property. She wouldn’t be leaving his residence–Ever.
However… Edrick supposed that he might extend a kind hand toward the Sect Of The Old Decay, considering that they were not only under the control of the Elt clan, but also since Edrick had already dealt with them before. He had gotten one of their best disciples to create a corpse puppet of the old Chen clan member.
By keeping Jingyi by his side, he would project an image toward them–That of a scion who was especially close to them in particular. If Edrick played his cards well, he could get in their good graces with ease, securing them as a strong ally that wasn’t just helping because of his family name, but because they truly respected him.
That was the key in business. Respect.
In any case, thanks to the strong link he shared with his belongings marked with a crest, Edrick was able to sense a lot about Jingyi’s current condition. He could tell that as she unlocked more of her special traits, she would gain the ability to more easily control her strong affinity to death. This meant one thing in particular beyond the power it would bring.
Anoteros sat next to her and leaned close to her ear, running his fingers through her hair.
“It seems like you’ll soon be able to grow my seed within you”
He felt his maid tense up as he said this.
“R-Really…? Master?”
“Of course. You have the perfect traits to bear my children. Keep training and continue to unlock more of your traits. For now, you’ve only acquired your bloodline…”
Edrick stood up and seemed like he was going to leave, but stopped as he was about to walk out the door, and instead closed it.
“Actually–Take off your clothes, Jingyi”
“Yes, Master!”
“It’s been a hot minute since I last gave you some attention, and I think this little event calls for a reward… I’ll pound and turn you into a mess. Just how you like it”
Like an expert, Jingyi had already fully undressed just a few seconds after the order was given. She was lying on the bed on all fours, caverns presented for her master to use as he saw fit.
Anoteros undid his belt, freeing his one-headed hydra from its confines. He pushed Jingyi’s waist and head down against the bed, making her lie completely flat on her stomach.
He looked at her frail, pale, and bare body. Indeed, it had been a little while since he had last enjoyed himself with that thin body of hers…
