Chapter 1: Excerpt
Everything... absolutely everything was going alright until the Festival of Maidens. Jenna took two jars of liquor and blacked out. When she woke up, she was sitting on a bed with her new servant kneeling in front of her.
Jenna found herself melting. She wasn’t scared of the man in front of her. Even though he was bigger in size than her husband, she wasn’t terrified.
"I don’t know..." she slurred, placing her hands on the sides of his face. "If it’s because I’m drunk or the night is too airy, but you look very dashing tonight... my handsome fool."
She moved her face back, then leaned closer, staring at his lips. "Can I kiss you?"
She didn’t wait for his response, and she captured his lips.
Just for tonight, Jenna thought to herself as she kissed him. She wanted to live, just for tonight....
