Lin Mu began browsing. At first, he simply checked titles.
Then he stopped.

"Nether Vitriolic Baptism." Lin Mu went silent.
This was the technique Xukong had given him. He had not practiced it yet due to the requirements needed. Lin Mu immediately retrieved the copy stored within his ring through spatial control and mentally compared the two.
The core contents were identical.
"Senior."
"I see it," Xukong replied.
"The sect has the same technique."
"That is hardly impossible. The Nether Vitriolic Baptism has existed for a very long time."
Lin Mu nodded. What interested him more were the additional records stored beside it: Notes.
There were cultivation notes.

Lin Mu slowly sat down beside the shelf and he opened the first volume of notes. "This might take a while."
Xukong chuckled. "You have time."
Lin Mu smiled. For the first time since entering the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect, Lin Mu temporarily forgot about the vault. There was knowledge here, an unimaginable amount of knowledge.
And Lin Mu intended to learn as much as he possibly could.
Lin Mu spent several more hours going through the notes attached to the familiar techniques, and by the time he finally closed the last volume, he could confidently say that the records were useful.
Some of the information merely confirmed conclusions he had already reached on his own, while a few sections gave him alternative methods that he had never considered before. The only thing Lin Mu felt disappointed about was that he had found these records far too late.
"If I’d seen these a few years ago, things would’ve been much easier," Lin Mu muttered as he placed one of the thick volumes back onto the shelf.

Lin Mu stared at one of the diagrams for several seconds before letting out a long sigh. "If I’d had this back then, I could’ve finished the technique much earlier."
"That is the benefit of accumulated knowledge," Xukong replied from within his mind. "A single cultivator might spend decades discovering something. Once the discovery is recorded, the next cultivator may understand it within a day."
Lin Mu nodded as he understood that principle better than most. Alchemy, formations, cultivation techniques, and almost every other path worked the same way.
The reason ancient sects were so powerful was their accumulated knowledge. A wandering cultivator might possess extraordinary talent, though they still had to discover everything themselves.
A disciple from an ancient sect could simply read the experiences of thousands of predecessors and avoid mistakes that had cost others decades or even centuries.
