The quiet night, a car steadily parked beneath the dormitory building of the Special Training Team.
Su Xue, inside the car, bent over to rub her sore ankles. Tonight was the New Year’s Eve banquet, and as one of the few women in the base considered reasonably attractive, she also received an invitation. All women attending the banquet received corresponding points as rewards.
Attending the banquet was easy, but dressing for it was a problem, as she had come to the base in a hurry and naturally did not bring elaborate gowns and jewelry to flee. Out of necessity, Su Xue had no choice but to ask Xu Luosheng for help.
Xu Luosheng had borrowed clothes and shoes for her. The clothes needed only slight adjustments to fit, but the shoes were half a size too small. She had endured them all evening, and now her ankles bore blisters, which hurt unbearably at the slightest touch.
Su Xue waited in the car for a while, and seeing no reaction from Xu Luosheng, she smiled lightly and asked, "Luosheng, what’s wrong?"
Xu Luosheng came to his senses and immediately opened the car door for her, saying, "You must be exhausted today. Go up and rest. I’ll come to see you in a couple of days."
Su Xue meekly nodded, a bittersweet smile on her face, "... Luosheng, when will you take me away? You know where I am living now..."
Though expelled from the Special Training Team, Su Xue’s lodging had been retained thanks to Xu Luosheng’s efforts, ensuring she would not end up on the streets.
