Chapter 1047: Volume 33 Where to Go - 34 Who is the Great Hero? (3)
"Newman, what are you waiting for?!" After a sharp rebuke, Komer gently bit the tip of his tongue, a metallic taste swiftly spreading to every part of his body. Newman had initiated the Star Magic Array, but it was doubtful that it alone could suppress the Caesar Knight before him. Komer was certain that Sir Caesar still had one or two trump cards up his sleeve, perhaps waiting for him to unleash everything before delivering the final blow. But now, he had no other choice.
A sudden change in the light in the sky, as if the ground centered around the Obelisk itself slightly shifted. As the light flowed, it seemed as if the entire horizon began to rotate and transform. The intense spatial changes caused the matter in the entire space to flow rapidly. Caesar’s gaze shifted slightly, indeed it was a Magic Array. The shape of the Obelisk had made him suspicious, and coupled with warnings from Noyola about being cautious of the mechanisms within Damarlinsk Castle, it really was peculiar. Star Magic was already rare, and to think it could be emitted through an Ancient Magic Array was indeed impressive.
A blue beam of light circulated unpredictably within the array, its speed increasing. The light seemed to be continuously pushed back by barriers connected to the array’s pillars, causing the accumulated power to grow stronger, and the frequency of impacts to become more frequent. Soon, the beam entered a physical phase, accompanied by a slight tremor of the array, the blue light column suddenly hovered in the air.
A few assistant Mages by Newman’s side were already exerting their utmost efforts to invoke White Magic to help him maintain. The tremendous drain of magic power made it impossible for Newman to support the operation of the ancient Magic Array, but this battle was unavoidable. Facing the one hailed as the strongest on the Continent, Caesar, and being part of this battle was indeed a rare opportunity.
With a pale face and weary, somewhat vacant eyes, Newman felt his strength and blood rapidly depleting, making even supporting his own body seem difficult. The three assistant Mages successively invoked White Magic and, without time to spare, even tore open two or three Magic Scrolls to enhance their own mana. Streaks of white light poured into Newman’s body, sustaining his vitality. Without the support of the assistant Mages, the backlash from just the ancient Magic Array would have been enough to finish Newman several times over.
When the Sword of the Starry Sky finally rose in the array, Newman could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The most difficult moment had passed; the Sword Qi of the Starry Sky had entered an irreversible physical state. Now, to counter this Sword Qi, other than confronting it with raw strength, escaping was almost impossible.
A series of spells echoed from Newman’s lips, and the assistant Mages solemnly rose to their feet, surrounding Newman and praying with clasped hands. The Sword Qi of the Starry Sky finally began to move slowly, steadily picking up speed, until it finally burst through the constraints of the array, sweeping towards Caesar like a shooting star.
The fierce Sword Qi of the Starry Sky swept past, seemingly absorbing all the air around it, its edges turning a strange dark color. A hissing sound from the spaces proclaimed a change in the force field.
