Chapter 1045: Volume 33 Where to Go 32nd - Who is the Great Hero? (1)
"Caesar, does the honor of the nobility really stem from blind faith in the Church of Light? Absurd. The term ’scoundrel’ suits those sanctimonious hypocrites far better, and you know exactly whom I’m talking about, don’t you? Caesar, can you deny the filthy and squalid affairs within the Church of Light? I spit on them!"
Komer’s taunts, a mix of jest and fury, made Caesar fume with rage. At this point, Komer had cast aside all concerns. A fight to the death had no need for niceties; might as well lay everything out and vent their anger. The grudge between them couldn’t be resolved with a few sweet words. This was the battle that would decide their fates, and unless a miracle occurred, only one would walk away standing.
"Very well, Lord Komer, that’s speaking like a man!" Caesar said, not angry but laughing instead. Yet, Komer could feel the intense murderous intent behind that laughter. Only now did the true fury in Caesar’s heart begin to rise.
Bear made a light leap into the air, spinning elegantly to the side. The twin stars in his hands shimmered as he thrust forward, only to sharply drop when they nearly reached Caesar’s body. His body twirled wondrously in the air as the tips of his weapons glinted with a cold light, covering Caesar’s upper body in a sporadic pattern of glimmers.
Without any apparent movement, and even Komer couldn’t discern how, Caesar’s body slid away, mysteriously evading Bear’s deadly pounce. The Knight Spear instead took the optimal position for an attack. With just a vigorous uplift of the spearhead, the surging Qi of the spear split the air like a wave, becoming a silver-white arc of light that soared forth mightily.
Komer’s heart tightened, but the opponent’s swift counterattack left him almost no chance to react. Now, it was all up to Bear’s own response.
Facing the fan-shaped sword Qi, Bear didn’t retreat half a step. He braved it head-on as the twin spikes extended and retracted unpredictably, turning into two Light Balls. His body suspended horizontally in mid-air, he began to spin wildly like a top, thrusting forward.
The fan-shaped Qi of the spear slashed across the violently advancing Bear’s body, creating a piercing screech of friction against the air. Accompanied by a series of clear "ding ding ding" sounds, the Light Balls conjured by the spikes shattered like paper lanterns, and Bear’s agile body wobbled uncertainly in mid-air. Though the savage power of the Qi was significantly dissipated by the obstructing spikes, the relentless force of that fierce spear stab couldn’t be stopped.
The continuous assault of the Qi hit Bear’s body, making his nimble form struggle to maintain stability in the air, like a lotus in the rain. The dull hits made Komer’s heart race with apprehension. Although Bear had developed a Golden Undying Corpse Body, this was Light Fighting Qi from Caesar’s hand—a force that could turn even iron-strong bodies as fragile as eggshells. Komer had no confidence whether the Golden Corpse Body could withstand the cleansing of the Light Fighting Qi.
