Komer’s face was exceptionally calm, but that was just an illusion he put on in front of Clark·Dos; in fact, after Clark·Dos had explained his reasons for coming, a tempest nearly rose within Komer, almost causing him to lose his composure.
Wind Riders? Caesar? The Religious Court was actually able to enlist their help? Weren’t they Julius’s direct forces, difficult for anyone to mobilize? How could Noyola, that madman, command them without Julius’s orders? The idea seemed utterly unbelievable.
However, Komer believed that Clark·Dos was not mad enough to travel a great distance to spread a false message just for the sake of amusing himself by teasing Komer a bit.
After Clark·Dos had been sent away, Komer finally turned his gaze to the silent leader of the Mage Corps—Rebry.
"What do you think? Is it possible? I mean, could Caesar accept Noyola’s orders to come after me?"
Komer stood up and began pacing rapidly around the room, a rare occurrence; it was only in the face of particularly urgent and thorny issues that he would resort to pacing to relieve his stress.
"Lord Komer, it’s not a question of whether it’s possible or not, your reaction has already told me that you believe Clark·Dos’s words."
Rebry seemed much calmer; perhaps his long history of being subjected to life’s vicissitudes had accustomed him to the onslaught of storms, so even news as impactful as this was not an unacceptable reality for him.
