Chapter 1015: Volume 33 Where to Go - 3 Incredible Cooperation (1)
The meeting with Frenster came so swiftly that even Komer thought the other party seemed to be waiting for his invitation.
Komer didn’t have the nerve to invite both Frenster and Vazinsky to Plovdiv at once. If the two pillars of the Church of Light really came together, Komer was genuinely worried they might wipe him out in an instant. Even with Rebry and Mihailovich as his escorts, he didn’t feel entirely safe; erring on the side of caution was only beneficial.
This was Komer’s first time facing the man reputed to be the foremost authority in the Church of Light, second only to the Pope. Obviously, in that period, the substantial weakening of Vazinsky’s faction had affected his standing within the Church. Frenster had begun to subtly outstrip Vazinsky, but this did not mean that Vazinsky’s faction had truly fallen.
Still clad in white as pure as snow, still with his hair grey as a heron’s plume, aside from the faint flicker of divine light in his eyes, Komer found this man—who had remained unyielding in the decades-long power struggles within the Church of Light—to be more like a hermit uninvolved with worldly affairs.
"Lord Bishop Frenster?" Komer tentatively asked.
"Heh, Lord Komer, have you not done your research before inviting me? Or are you questioning whether I am who I say I am?" There was a mild smile on Frenster’s face that gave no hint of hostility.
"Oh, I apologize, I was somewhat discourteous. I’m just surprised because the appearance of Bishop Frenster is a bit different from what I imagined," Komer frankly admitted his impoliteness.
"Oh? And what did you imagine me to be like?" Frenster asked with interest.
