Chapter 975: Volume 31: Hand Trying to Cover the Sky, - 19: When Wishing to Condemn Someone
Shami hesitated for a moment. To make preparations in advance meant military preparations, which in turn meant considering the Wolf Clan, the Cow Tribe, and the Bear Tribe. Merely the armed forces of the Tiger Clan and the Fox Clan were far from sufficient. However, these three clans had consistently been opposed to the policies he and Christina had implemented. To now ask them to prepare for war would undoubtedly declare that the policies he and Christina promoted had faced setbacks, which could inevitably affect his authority.
Christina, who was astute as the cold snow, immediately sensed Shami’s reluctance. "Shami, we can use the name of winter exercises to call for Bill and Carter to conduct combat readiness training. Wouldn’t that be more appropriate?"
"Hmm, if that’s the case, it would certainly be much better. There should be no problems on Moda and Mouni’s side. As for Carter, it might be a bit troublesome. His attitude has been rather ambiguous lately. If you, Christina, could have a talk with him, I think the situation would improve," Shami said with a slight smile.
Christina’s cheeks flushed with heat. She of course understood why Carter had been acting so strangely lately, but as her relationship with Shami was pure and aboveboard, with nothing shameful involved, she was not afraid at all.
"Alright, I will talk to Carter. However, it would be best if we could get some more accurate news from Dashler. I always feel a bit uneasy about this haziness," Christina nodded.
"Hmm, I think Dashler won’t let us down. He should give me a satisfactory reply in a day or two," Shami mused.
As he watched Christina’s graceful figure disappear outside the door, Shami couldn’t help but sigh. Truly a marvelous woman—the Fox Clan was fortunate to have such a talented and beautiful leader. In the past, they were mostly seductive vixens who, aside from stirring up endless strife within Beamon, had no other skills. But Christina was different. Perhaps the heavens really wanted to give him a chance to leave a significant mark in Beamon’s history of revitalization?
For a moment, Shami was lost in his thoughts.
