Chapter 895: Volume 28, Long Spear Plows the Courtyard, - 12: Kill Approaching
Early in the morning, Komer had already removed the ban. Although the ban was merely an intangible chain in space, it always gave the caster a feeling of being shackled psychologically. If it were not for safety considerations, Komer would not have resorted to such a measure. Maha Gummi had already issued a warning; it seemed that some "guests" from the west had arrived in Poznan City. It was still unclear whom they belonged to, but with the situation in Poznan City just having stabilized, the sudden arrival of so many "guests" clearly wasn’t out of goodwill.
However, Komer was not too concerned. He couldn’t imagine who would want to trouble him at this time. The Church of Light certainly had the capability, but they seemed to be preoccupied with their internal issues at the moment. As for the Silesians, they should be grateful that he had not troubled them. The Galleians? If they did not wish to ignite a full-scale war, it was best they refrain from taking such risks. Komer didn’t think Zellin would be so unwise. After all, they were in a semi-war state, but there was also the factor of Vero involved; Zellin should know that he wasn’t ready to confront them just yet. Under such circumstances, who would provoke him?
The dawn gradually faded, and Komer subconsciously stepped into the back garden.
The Heine Family’s back garden was uniquely constructed; a central axis divided the elliptical garden into two halves, with cascading fountains and sculptures arranged in a terraced manner, harmoniously embedded among surrounding plants. A water channel at their base extended into the distance, all the way into the river. Ancient-style sculptures complemented by the surrounding green trees, and scattered stone benches and chairs adorned the entire garden, imbuing it with a warm and romantic ambiance.
Komer enjoyed walking alone in the back garden. Walking here during the clearest-headed time in the morning would bring him a good mood for the entire day; it was the one place in Poznan City that he still felt fondly about.
In two days’ time, Komer planned to leave Poznan City. Renta had gradually integrated into the life here, and Komer was pleased with the leisure it afforded him, leaving the formalities of nobility mostly to Renta and Puber. Although the nobles and merchants inwardly disliked this foreign conqueror, based on their understanding of reality, they knew they had no choice, and Renta’s presence had alleviated much unnecessary hostility to a certain extent.
Lecler had already inquired when his Knights regiment could leave Poznan and return to Homer. After all, this was not their homeland. The knights weren’t afraid of going to battle, but when the war had receded, they preferred to stay in their homeland. Thankfully, the indifferent Half-Beastmen and Barbarians didn’t yet show this sentiment, especially the Half-Beastmen; as long as they had sufficient logistical support, they didn’t mind staying here for a decade or two.
