The Vastness of Magical Destiny

Chapter 876: Volume 27: The Sudden Fury, - 15: Showing Off

The goat-headed creature’s words immediately piqued Komer’s immense interest. A rather rich variety? Oh, what kind of concept was that? Did it mean that the iron ore production in Izmir could yield many kinds of magic metals? Was this guy showing off purposely with obscure hints, or did he really have something valuable to share? Komer didn’t deny the other’s expertise in Fire Magic, but having unique insights into ore composition, especially ore rich in magic metals, wasn’t something a Fire Mage could accomplish; this seemed more like the specialty of a dwarven surveyor.

"Lord Komer, don’t look at me with that kind of gaze. It hurts my pride. I know what you’re thinking, and there’s nothing worth hiding. I have dwarven blood, and I don’t think there’s anything shameful in that," the goat head said with some displeasure.

This news was quite surprising. Dwarfs were a very closed group, not in terms of their communication with the outside world, but in terms of their seriousness about marriage. They strictly adhered to monogamy and were exceedingly loyal to their spouses. Words like infidelity and adultery didn’t exist in their emotional world; hence, they rarely intermarried with other races, and likewise, other races didn’t wish to intermarry with dwarfs due to physical and racial differences.

However, Komer wasn’t interested in this. What interested him was whether Feuerbach possessed the capabilities he claimed, since Komer was a layman in ore smelting.

"Well, I’ve never been interested in matters of racial bloodlines. In my territory, as long as you abide by the law, that’s enough, even if you are a skeleton or a zombie," Komer declared grandly. "What I’m interested in are the things that are useful to me. Can you tell me what kind of magic metals this ore contains?"

"Of course," the goat head nodded, reached into the metal vessel and pinched some blackish powder, "This ore is primarily composed of iron, so the most abundant byproduct is Mysterious Iron. See how this powder emits an oily black color? This is the appearance of Mysterious Iron after it has been purified by the fires of the netherworld."

Mysterious Iron? Komer felt somewhat disappointed. Although Mysterious Iron could barely be counted as a magic metal, it was one of the lowest and most common types among magic metals. Though more expensive than ordinary metals, its value was incomparable to that of other magic metals. Mysterious Iron was rich in Water Magic Power, and mixing it with ordinary metals could effectively increase the metals’ flexibility and ductility, while also offering some resistance to Fire Force.

Seemingly discerning the disappointment in Komer’s eyes, the goat-head discarded the black powder and searched again in the metal vessel, revealing some slightly blue granules on the tip of a finger, piquing Komer’s curiosity.

"This is Indigo Gold, blue with a hint of green, very rare on the Blue Continent. I dare say many people on the Continent might not even have heard of this," the goat head boasted proudly.
