Chapter 819: Volume 25, Midstream Strikes the Water, - 6: Entanglement
"Image? Reputation? Lecler, I can’t concern myself with those, I only know that you are the leader of those knights who go around causing trouble, these ugly fellows are causing serious disturbances to the public order of Cyprus City, and as the Knight Leader, you bear an inescapable responsibility. I demand that you take responsibility immediately and make those fellows stay quietly at home, they are not allowed to go out, get drunk, and cause trouble!"
Shatima firmly planted her Dragon Spear into the ground, the heavy spear sinking deep into the earth. The sandy stone floor of Lecler’s entryway was rudely penetrated, embedding itself into the muddy ground below, causing Lecler much heartache yet leaving him helpless. Trying to reason with this woman was simply inviting trouble.
"Miss Shatima, You should know that I have already left the Homer Knights. The Homer Knight Order no longer exists, so the actions of those individuals are their own affairs. If they have violated the city’s public order regulations, you may arrest them and punish them according to the law. I have no relation with them now, and I want to stress that point once more." Lecler explained helplessly.
"No relation? You make it sound so simple. How can there be no relation? Weren’t these fellows trained under you? Weren’t they always obedient to your command before this? Philip may have run away, but as the Knight Leader, are you going to let these garbage knights harm the local citizens? Is this what a knight’s character is, shown through drunken brawls?"
Shatima rebutted with conviction. For her, maintaining order in Cyprus was undeniably a huge challenge. She didn’t want to fail her first assignment, as it was related to the missions she might undertake in the future, and was a test of her capabilities by Fran. She told herself that she had to complete this task at all costs. To catch a thief, first catch the king, a point Shatima understood clearly. This Lecler was clearly the head of those knights, and if she could subdue him, everything else would fall into place.
Lecler felt utterly dejected. This person was determined to shirk the responsibility onto him, although he had long since stopped dealing with these trivial matters. Her actions were meant to drag him into the political whirlpool and prevent his escape.
"Miss Shatima, I don’t wish to engage in this pointless debate with you any longer, nor do I plan to command those who are no longer my subordinates, so please return home." Lecler knew his request for her to leave might not be effective, but it was all he could do.
"Oh really? Asking me to leave? Lecler, you’re truly naive. You think you can simply dismiss me without giving a satisfactory answer and expect me to leave? Do you really think I, Shatima, am that easy to deal with? What do you take me for?" Shatima let out an exclamation, her almond eyes wide open, hands on hips, her ample bosom heaving up and down like waves, looking every bit like a shrewish woman, except that her voluptuous and enchanting appearance was actually quite pleasing to the eye.
